Hey... I finally just got one of those re-made shrounds for my 22" factory rad. I got a dumb question, but what kinda nuts/bolts should I use to attach the shroud to the rad? I really dont think it would be good if the nuts shake loose and the shroud falls off on the fan...

LOL... I have figured that much out...

It is winter out.. I have all the extra time to worry about stupid little things..lol

Shane, I think its kinda like a clip and on the one side its threaded. When I get home I will take a look at the parts manual

Boy, you're really taxing the memory here as I think back to my old '69 Dart. I may be wrong but I think they were some kind of clip and bolt combo.
Sorry, but my current '69 Dart project didn't have a shroud on the radiator when I bought it.

A clip that would slide on the rad, and then the bolt go through the shroud and thread into that does make sense.

Hey Shane, I went diggin thru my parts cd for 68 and 69 and the only thing I see listed is "radiatior grille retainer" with a quantity of 10. I couldnt find a pic of the shroud, but they are listed. I'll take a look later and see if I can put up a pic. Oh part # for the retainer is 2785743 if that helps.

Here's a pic of the clips that attach to the radiator.

You can buy them here http://www.amhightechauto.com/ check under fasteners and there is a good picture.

Or you can probably get something close at lowes. They usually have an auto fastener drawer in the nuts and bolt section

Ok thanks guys!

I'll swing by lowes today and see what I can come up with.

I took the rad out yesterday...

I'll let you know what I find

Can you tell me where you found the re-made shround? I may be looking for one for a 71 Demon 340

Thanks

The clips shown above look correct and the fine thread screw you need has a hex head for a 5/16 nutdriver or small socket. They usually get broken off or lost and they're a little difficult to find.

Contact Bill at A&M High Tech Auto and ask for a shroud that won't warp. He can hook you up.
