Hoping someone out there can educate me.

Please share any pics or comments regarding 67-69 barracuda rocker mouldings. I've been looking but still cant find a decent pic of what they are supposed to look like on a 67 fastback.

Second, are these pieces rare/hard to find. Been looking at the typical resto parts sites and haven't found anything yet.

Many thanks in advance
steve

So are the "gills" the pieces mounted just forward of the rear wheel opening? Hard to see from the pic but I'm assuming it is a seperate piece from the longer "spear" that runs the length of the rocker. Is that correct?

My 67 has also has holes forward of the wheel opening, am I correct in assuming that the "spear" on a 67 went from wheel opening to wheel opening?

thx
Steve

Yes, the gills mounted ahead of the rear wheel opening and is separate of the spears. There were special rubber mounting plugs that were installed in the car body for the screws to go in to. I'm not sure about the arrangement of spears for the '67's. I bought these back in the day from the dealer. The body should be painted argent (gray) under the spears. I didn't do that.

Many thanks,

Hopefully someone will comment regarding the spears on a 67.

OBTW, I am currently in Kandahar AFG serving with many of your fellow countrymen. I actually work for the Canadian Brigadier here in RC(S) HQs.

thanks for taking the time to respond
Cheers

I nearly landed up in the doghouse over the barracuda. Stumbled across it less than an week before I deployed to Afghanistan last summer. All I have is the one pic i just put in my signature block.

Managed to convince my wife that I was having a midlife Chrysler and that I really needed a second 40+ year old car. She gave in but it cost me...

Here is a larger version of the pic in my sig block. Not the best, hard to see much of the car

Spears in 67, no gills.
Check your fender tag to see what trim your car had, if you are interested in returning it to stock appearing.

The 67 rocker molding wouldn't be considered a spear. totally different from what was on the 68 fish. 67 rocker moldings are evn more rare than the 68 pieces. Good luck
