Thanks for the compliments guys, I really apprecaite it

Ed, again thanks for the info and answers. I am hoping to snag some time this week to play with it some more. Gotta get that srteering column in place, then play with the brake stuff, I am considering just using a aftermarket proportioner and moving it a bit, then rethink the shims... We shall see...

Gdemon, I was hoping you would chime in and let me know if you had issues with yours. As always, thanks for the pics. I was wondering if your motor moves with those mounts? I hope mine doesnt...

AJ, Goodluck! It really wasnt that bad, I have struggled more with other combos. BTW I used some really long (14") needle nose pliers to start the bolts at the top of the trans/bellhousing. Only way to get in there, at least with the car intake it was...

Thanks again
JOE

I had to cut the outer shell of the steering column and move the plastic bushing up about 1" to clear the cyl head. Ya my motor doesnt move a bit. I only have about 1/4" from my alt to the frame rail and it has never touched. Here is a pic looking thru the fire wall.

That Dart is looking Sweet. The new hemis are super motor, Last for ever or at least it is in my truck. 225,000. plus miles and going strong.

Gdemon,
You have the best Pics, EVER.

I did cut the sleve off my column a while back, I think I cut it back about 6" and bumped the collar/bearing up...

Hopefully I did enough.

JOE

That's looking awesome, what brand of sway bar is that I can see in the 2nd picture joeboy?

I did some more fitment work today, finally, I cut and re-welded the bracket for the brake dist block, so it has some clearance, (it was right against the headers) it has about 3/8-7/16 now, hopefully I don't boil my brake fluid...

Once that was done I removed the 1/4 shim I had under the drivers mount. That moved my passenger valvecover off the fender to about 7/16-1/2. Enough that I am not as worried about it. The pics are hard to see, but they show my new found "wiggle room".

JOE

After you are sure the brake lines and block are not leaking, I would get some insulation wrap on them. Great work!

cant you just move the lines to a diffrent location? seems like a better option to me. looks like if you move them back (to the left in your pic) about 4 inches you would have way more room and not have to worry about them at all. it would not cost much to bend up a new line. and would be alot safer.

Ramit,

I have gone back and forth on either a heat shield, or re-bending lines for hours... First, I think a simple shield with some thermo tape will do the trick, I talked a bunch to my brother (mechanic) and he agrees (WHICH HE RARELY DOES). Second, I also am a bit nervous of bending lines. Not that I couldn't get them done, just they may not be as pretty as the prebent stuff which would drive me nuts...

JOE

why not buy a bender and some cheap lines and give it a shot. I would I think even a really close set of lines would look better than a heat shield. I personally don't like heat shields. They seem like an after thought to me. I would buy the stuff and try it. (without bending you existing lines) can cost you much more than 20 and some time.
