I was talking to a guy today about remanufacturing the finish panel and trim for the trunk on the 67 Dart GT and 270

I'm taking a piece in for him to look at. I hope he can and will make them. If you would be interested please post your interest

here is what I found out today

The finish panel would be too expensive for this guy to repop

The trim above and below the finish panel can be done he thinks in billet aluminum and if he could sell 8 sets thinks somewhere around $250 a set

I need to get a female side of the trim to send to him for a pattern. I have the male side

anyone else need a set of trim for their 270 or GT trunk?

I'm definitely interested! I have a '67 GT and would consider a finish panel and the 4 mouldings. Bummer he's not considering the panel, as they're rarer than the mouldings.

I have some design input though... It would be great if the mouldings could have similar radii to the taillamp surrounds. The tail lamp surrounds/bezels have a somewhat sharp radii/edges on them, where the factory decklid moldings are soft in section, due to being stamped(?) parts.

Another thought... Has he thought about doing GT tail panel with the moldings integral as one part to eliminate any fit issues? THAT would be very cool!

Thanks for posting this and please keep me/us up to date.

Hey WildCat.....I realize this post is waaayyy old, but are there any updates to report?

Talked to the guy again this year and doubt he will do anything with it. The company that he uses to repo them wanted a crazy amount for 1st order and cost was very high.

I think I finally got enough good pieces for my car.

I have several finish panels

guess I should take some pictures and see if anyone is interested

Yeah;not surprised. These are hard to find in good shape,I finally found one in great shape.Have two in good shape but to refinish it was very expensive
