Are you pulling our legs? It only happens in the morning? Just drive at night. LOL

not too sure what thats supposed to mean, but again... it is my first project car. Going from a 98 accord to a 74 valiant is a pretty drastic change... seeing as how ive never had the option of working on a car in my younger years. thanks for the suggestion though.

Make sure the cat in your avatar is not climbing into your engine bay at night to stay warm and then going for an unexpected and terrifying ride in the morning with you! The "buzz" sound could be the poor thing getting its fur caught in a fan belt.

Is the buzz sound electrical sounding or mechanical? Maybe humidity related from overnight cold weather condensation and thus that is why it doesn't happen at night when the car has been driven during the day and the condensation has evaporated? Electrical perhaps? Distributor, plug wire, alternator....check all your wired connections.

Can you give us a little to go on? Anything that seems relevant? Is the noise in the front the back? Does it quit when you're up to speed? How loud is it. Does it affect the performance? Does it have power steering? How is it charging? Automatic? Noise change when it shifts? Is the radio buzzing? What makes you use the word "weird" in reference to the buzz. Tell us whatever you think might help.

its in the front of the car. it sounds like its right in front of me. as soon as i pass 20 miles per houur the loud buzzing starts. it keeps buzzing untill is come to a stop. i figured that it was just because the engine was cold but i warm it up 15 minutes before i leave for work, and i live in socal so its not extremely cold out side. i checked all the belts and fluids. i just hope its not too big of a deal, seeing as how i just spent 3000 on the car.

Gonna have to sleep on it. It's not the seat belt buzzer or something like that is it?

Could it be your speedo cable/speedo making that noise?

This is what I was thinking.

My 65 Valiant has sort of a 'buzzing' or 'clicking' coming from right in front of me.. its the speedometer cable inside the gauge cluster. Does the speedometer bounce around at all?

Make note of the noise and it's frequency. Look at the speedometer needle and if it is bouncing to the same fraquency as the noise, that's it, as already said. Easy fix. Get some powdered graphite, remove the speedometer cable from behind the speedometer, slide the cable out of the case and apply graphite to it and slide it back in and plug the cable back into the speedometer.

Also check your power steering hose. It could be vibrating against inner fender. I used a zip tie and cured a perplexing noise [knocking - only when cold.] I then did notice the high pressure line also did slightly vibrate.

This is a shot, but, inside the air cleaner is a thermal valve that has two vacuum hoses attached to opperate the hot air door on the aircleaner.Disconnect the hose that goes to the carb and plug. See if the noise goes away. I had one go bad on a v8 mopar that gave a intermitten buzz, squeek, squill,(don't really know how to discribe the sound).
