Tires for '70 Dart

Hello, I have a '70 Dart with the 225 six.

I am debating about whether to get 215/70/14 tires or the more-correct appearing 195/75/14 tires.

I have 14 x 6 American Racing wheels.

People tell me that my current tires (215/70/14) are a bit "wide" for that 6 inch rim, and thus a lot of sidewall flex when I turn...yes, this car as is does not like taking fast turns. They also tell me that a 195/75/14, although a bit narrower, will have a "straighter" sidewall, and should handle better.

What do you guys think? what should I get? I don't want any other rims other than what I have, so I won't be changing rims.

215/70-14 is perfect for that rim and car.Thats what I run on my 70 with a factory 14x5.5 steel wheel.
Put them on and don't look back.
Save the 195's for the church lady.
 
rear: 225/70-14
front: 205/70-14


rims are the stock wide small bolt wheels. 14x5.5 ???

Keep in mind,not everyone is looking for the fattest tire they can stuff under their fenders. Clearly this is the case.
 
Cant find a pic right now but i think 215 70 front and 245 60 rear is what we had on our 70 with rallies.
 
Aboday Joe, is that tire combo you posted go for both pictures you up loaded. I like whats on the yellow one!
 
I was wondering if that combonation would fit on my okay on my 74 dart? (225/70/14 & 205/70/14)
