Though I posted this elsewhere, as per moderator suggestions, I'm starting my tread here.
I just committed to buying a 1970 Dart Swinger project car for $2k. I'll be picking it up on Sunday, so here goes the beginning of my first long term project of this sort.
Since the seller already painted the cab, engine, and trunk compartments Plum Crazy, that's the color I'll probobly end up with.
All this is all new to me, I hope everyone here who has the time and is willing, will be patient with me with all the questions I'll have going forward, so thanks ahead of time!

I will be following closely Paul.I too have a 70 swinger and my name is Paul too!!!Kinda freaky huh?

My swinger is pretty much in pieces, but Im hoping to do some work soon.

Good luck on the new purchase. I hope I speak for everyone when I say we will help any way we can. Dont hesitate to ask. My father always told me, There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people. Hehe. I look forward to helping any way I can. Keep us posted with some pics.

Good luck with it if you run across anything you need and you cant find there in the bend redmond area let me know i am in Sutherlin and have some parts maybe i can help Just let me know. Justin

Good luck bro. Have fun. Now, don't forget, detailed pictures and a lot of them. ;)

I too am completing a '70 Swinger with 440/727/3.91. It looks totally stock on the outside, but under the hood is another story.

Good luck with it and Plum is a cool color...I'm partial to Hemi Orange, but we all have our favs.

Thanks! Plum is actually my third chioce behind Sublime and Hemi Orange #1 as you can probobly tell by my dream car thumbnail pic. Yellow is nice too, so many colors, so little cars!

HERE IT IS!
Just got picked it up yesterday. The rear bumper and trim and all other original parts came seperate in great condition, it even has the original sticker, paperwork, and dealer key tag from 1970, how cool is that!
The previous owner had already began a resto by stripping it, painting the insides Plum Crazy, and slapping in a freshly rebuilt 360/727 by a guy who was just shipped off to work for the NASCAR circuit.
Supposetly the engine has 2.02 J heads, but I don't know how to verify without pulling them. The Holly750/Edlebrock/Crane combo are matched for performance with adj rockers.
That's it for now till I have time to finish organizing my garage for shop use.

The body looks real clean! I'm pretty sure the dash was never painted body color, though. I've only ever seen black, tan or green.
