im after a little more power and ive had a holley 350 2bbl kicking around for the last 2 years so im finally making use of it. this should be a farly simple conversion. i was wondering if anyone knew how much hp gain im gonna get. i am also getting rid of the rusted out muffler and putting on a flowmaster single out with a chrome tip and getting rid of the cat. later on i plan to put on a K&N filter and a header.

Not exactly the same thing, but I did a Super Six conversion, 2" duals exhaust from Dutra manifolds all at the same time, and it made a HUGE difference, by MY standards. I'd say it felt like I'd gone half way between where I started and a stock 318 swap.

You're not going to accomplish anything with a K&N filter besides draining your wallet.

It's all relative, though. Depends on what you're after. If you want/need V8 power, don't bother spending the time and money hopping up a slant in the first place. Me, I can get all the fun I need out of a peppy little slant.

Good luck!

I think Mopar got 15 more horse out of a dual?? just get a larger headpipe (2.25 instead of the 1 7/8) and taller gears...or a modern 268degree camshaft. Ohhh, a Holley 350? Not real good from a stock approach, it kills all low end and kicks in at about 3000 rpm as noted on slantsix.org..BUT, they are great blow through turbo carbs! Turbocharge it for less than a clifford header!

Not sure what I am getting hp wise, I think cool fresh air system is a big help!!!and correct spark plugs with a good ignition system along with getting rid of the restricted exhaust gave me an easy 1/4% more hp, I think the 170 is rated 108 hp if that much, so yea 25 hp, The Holley is a 390cfm.
And yes, I could feel it after I added my stuff and received at least 3 mpg if not 5 on the hwy.

I recently switched to a 2bbl setup and there is a noticeable difference. It's much more responsive, especially in the mid-range. I'm running a 225/automatic and it's now fun to drive. I didn't do anything with exhaust except for a bigger pipe all the way to the back.

If I keep my foot out of it I get reasonable gas mileage too.
