Vacuum Line needed on Double Pumper?

Do I have to hook up a vacuum line to my distributor when installing my new HP 750 Double Pumper? I was wanting to know what the purpose of it is if is a Mechanical Secondaries not Vacuum. Its going on a Crate 360CID/380HP with a 4 Speed in a 68 FB. Thanks in advance.
 
The vacuum line your talking about operates the vacuum advance in the distributor. If you're running vacuum advance then yes you need it. It should be hooked to ported vacuum.
 
You'll need the vacuum line if your distributor has vacuum advance for the spark. The vacuum line has no connection to the mechanical secondaries of your double-pumper carb.
