I have a 1969 Red Barracuda center console that I will be fixing up and selling, In order to send it in to be chromed I have to take off the wood grain sticker, when I took a swing at it came off in little pieces and was hard to pull off. I was thinking of using Goof Off but I don't have any on me right now and was wondering if anyone elce has removed the sticker before. Screwdriver/paint scraper isnt an option as I want the bottom to be nice.

Auto body and paint stores have decal and adhesive remover in a spray can. A plastic scraper would still be needed.

If the console body is metal then you can use Acetone or Methyl Ethyl Ketone to remove the wood grain laminate.

If the console body is plastic or contains plastic areas, then use Isopropyl Alcohol (Rubbing Alcohol) to soften the adhesive backing on the simulated wood grain.
