I don't see any advantage. It is easy to run the harnesses with the engine in and better to have no wires in the way anyway. Do spend the time to de-rust and paint the bay, and don't just spray-paint black over rust (as my prior owners did). If you plan mods like upgraded ignition, relays for lights and fan, or EFI, the standard wiring harness doesn't buy you much and almost as easy to make from scratch. Painless' prices are painful.
