"rusty ol cuda" nightmare on any street wheelstander project

I have to go pickup my tubing I ordered to build the module to house the rear,transfer case engine and trans then I can get everythind sorted out with pinion angles and start on the cage work, I'll post pic's as I get more progress
 
Ok so the shop is a disaster area....but I have some progress, been fiddling with the engine cradle and pinion angles etc.

That is going to be a wicked little car. Will you drive it on the street?
 
Hey Curtis, have you thought about the 8 3/4 is going to be turning backwards? Your going to be applying power to the coast side of the gears. You can use the dana 60 as you can use reverse cut gears as in the a front off a 4x4.
 
i was thinkin the same thing but the low speeds I will be doin this at it might live for some time, its a 3:23 with power loc so I have a few ring and pinions around. I'm gonna try it out first and see how it goes

Well I guess you'll be the guinea pig on this one, I've never tried to apply power to a set of gears on the coast side.
 
well I'm told do the wheelstands in second gear and as light as the car is It may live for quite some time, I contacted a few ring and pinion places they all said use a 9" ferd....no thanky, i'll keep the dana just in case

waggin i think the gears will turn in the proper direction for your application i used to play with big lifted 4x4s for years.also is that 205 out of a dodge?if you het a ford case the gears are the same however the yokes have the 1350 series u joints for a bigger surface area
 
it must be a ford transfer case because I had to use a lakewood crossover u joint to hook the trans and transfer case together

some more progress, transfer case pivot installed and front cradle pivot installed and both items teste, smooth operation so on to some sort of panhard bar and build a driveshaft, and start hooking up the engine for firing and get on the cagework for a test run

Very interesting! I love the idea, & builds like this. I always give extra credit to those who like to think outside the box.
