Looking to buy an air body saw. Any suggestions. I looked at the one from HF, but it looked to be crap and only buzzed a 5000spm.
Not a body guy, so nothing that cost alot of $$. Also, the best tooth count for the job. (24-32, etc.)
Will be using it to cut the hood on my 72 Swinger.
Thanks

Air saws actually don't work very well. They are very high rpm with a super short stroke. The same 1/4" of the blade near the stop does all the cutting and wears out quickly. A jig saw with a metal cutting blade actually works better. tmm

I have the one from HF and it's 10,000 strokes per minute. It does a pretty good job for the money. It's also on sale right now for 19.99.

And TMM is correct they really aren't all they are cracked up to be.

I have one of these also. I usually get frustrated with it and use my 4.5" grinder with a cut off wheel instead.

I have both a HF electric and air body saws and HF grinder with metal discs. My favorite to use is the electris body saw cause only need an extension cord to use and it works extremely well.

I have one of the HF air saws. The shaft on mine has some rotational play in it, so when you try to make a straight cut the blade wanders. As stated by a previous member, my cutting tool of choice is a .040" thick cutting wheel on an offset grinder. L8r
