So progress is being made on my 66 Barracuda interior. I am having the seats done in grey leather, the high end stuff they put in aircraft, black carpet and black headliner. The seats will have the same basic stitching as original. The door panels will too except I am omitting the carpet strip along the bottom of the door. I know why it is there, for those who like to kick the door open, but I think I can refrain from doing that and smack passengers in the back of the head if they do. I am having a door pocket placed in that area on both sides. Has anybody done something similar and how has it held up for you?

Should I reconsider and have the carpet put back?

Door pockets are convenient and look good, but my experience is after a time they have a tendency to sag (gravity's a *****).
Your car, your money, but I'd keep the carpet.
