The separated exhaust on my Lil Red Express and AAR clone always seemed to increase the impression of being cammed bigger. Although not separated as much, it still seems to amplify that effect a bit.
 
Love the note. Were did you get the rear stripe from, and what is the decal on the stripe
 
Nice sounds. Wouldn't believe it was a 318. Wish someone would post a 273 Commando with the straight through primary muffler and box end resonator. That son-of-a-gun sounded stout. The straight through was only used on the 65 Commando and Charger 273 motors. 66 & 67 used a low restriction reverse flow muffler which failed to capture the heartbeat of the street. B/RB and LA 340/360 had fully functional duals.

I've always loved the high optic colors that Chrysler became famous for using. The late '60s - early '70s was the era of Plymouth's Rapid Transit System advertizing. - And of course, the Dodge Scat Pack. I wanted to keep my '67 somewhat tame looking but still have a look that embodied a bit of that outlandish muscle car psychedelic feel. The metallic grey actually has a hint of candy pink and blue in it. It doesn't jump out at you but it's there.

I realize that tail stripes were really a Dodge thing. - Part of that Scat Pack theme. But I hoped I could make them work anyway. The stripes are painted on, but the 'Cuda' emblem is vinyl. Clearcoat was applied over it all.

I started with a design that had been used in old Plymouth advertizing and modified it. In order to do it in one color it needed to be simplified a bit so that it wouldn't be too hard to distinguish what it was. I eliminated some of the details, rounded out the tires, added a tail, etc... After redesigning it I had one of the local vinyl sign shops cut a few out for me. $8 each. I had them make the BARRACUDA decals for the hood as well. It made more sense to me to have these things custom made rather than have to deal with sizes that didn't quite fit.

Mine is posted in the exhaust "Sticky". I had Accurate build it straight thru, since that is what I had on my 64. I used a Maremount replacement exhaust for a 65 Commando Barracuda back then. Love the graphics, got any for sale?

What size do you need? I've got an extra pair of them sitting around that are 7&3/8" in diameter. The circle surrounding the Cuda emblems are of 2 different widths on the extras I have because I was experimenting. But the vinyl shop that I had cut them for me has a copy in their computer and can cut more in any size/color. I can check with them on what they'd charge for other sizes.

I checked with the vinyl shop.

7 3/8" - $4.00 each
12" - $10.00 each
24" - $17.50 each

At those prices a person could afford to put a few on mailboxes or tool boxes. Naturally, any custom size can be made. I doubt the owner of the vinyl shop will want to mess with packaging/shipping. But I don't mind taking care of stuff like that if you'd cover shipping cost. - Always willing to help out the cause.

My son decided to switch to the FAST distributor. We should get it shipped to us in about another week. I doubt we'll see any gain switching from the MSD, but he wanted to have the entire system from FAST after reading other posts from folks that said that was the best way to go.
 
I had a request from someone interested in some stretched versions of the decal, so I played around with it a bit on my computer.

I have been working on designing a replacement decal for the old COYOTE DUSTER oval air grabber air cleaner lids with a 'Cuda theme. This is a rough draft. The finished one would be fully colored.

the decals on the scoop are wrong and dont look right .....................as the ramchargers said. Lean the letters forward not to be confused with backwards.

and i think the letters need to grow as they go out towards the front.

Hmmm... You may be right. I played around with several fonts, font sizes, colors, etc... I had considered expanding the height towards the front, but didn't have a program on my computer that let me. As far as the direction the lettering leans, I can see that the scoop is shaped in such a way that it might have fit better leaning forward. I normally prefer the backwards lean that seems to simulate the effect that moving through the air would have. I probably should have tinkered with the lettering a bit more before deciding. Although I could have done more designing 'off the computer', it's a lot quicker for me to use one. Any chance you might know of a program that would let me 'warp' the size of the fonts to allow me to make that wedged look?
