Exactly...that engine is worth money to resto guys....do a RB stroker instead.....

DO get them checked for cracks. the Max heads use a spec intake gasket. and maybe spec intake manifold, with specl bolt down process. by the way i have a duel point stage 2 disturber. it has NO vac advance. and NO its NOT for sale.

its a 426 STREET WEDGE..very common engine actually..350.00 is going rate... good luck they are good engines to build... my BONE STOCK 70 440 HP went 13.0@103.. 4:10 gears and 340 hi stall..mccreary dirt tires for traction...well tuned..

Hey ph23vo how can you assume its a street wedge with out me posting the engine and head #s without me posting pics.. I'll post the pad info on Friday to make you a believer

We don't wanna see the "pad info" we wanna see the CYLINDER HEADS. That is what makes a maxie, not the block. In the six thousand dog years since these old girls were first put together, any given block could have been loaded with just about anything, including a set of old 361 heads!!!!!

And I'll tell you something else, and I'm NOT calling you out, here

If I had found a maxie for an affordable price, and actually dragged it home, it would not have taken me two fah--reekin' minutes to get braggin' rights photos posted on here!!!

I don't think I'd turn it down...I wasn't aware 426 wedges were that common.

From what I've seen though, the pistons for them aren't the same availability as some of the better 440 versions...thankfully customs aren't as pricey as they used to be.

That's just it........."max" wedges are NOT that common. There's quite a few 426 lower performance engines, as they were used in trucks and motor homes, and industrial "stuff"

Did you get intake or exhaust manifolds with the purchase. No mistaken you got something
special there even if you were a Chevy guy. Massive parts

The 383 and 426 wedge both have 4.25" bore. Just different stroke 3.375" vs 3.75". Pistons can't be all that rare for that bore size.

I'll let you do your homework and figure out which "series" these are... :read:

Not for sale unless you have very, very, very deep pockets.... Like down to your shoes.... (Even then, I reserve the right to say, "No" - and it may not be put that nicely....) :finga: :eye:

I once saw a guy at Mopar Nats many years ago in Indy (like 86). He had a Max Wedge (Stage II) intake with carbs and linkage for sale asking $1200. I asked him "What would you take for them?".

He replied, "Those are high performance parts, there's no dealing on high performance parts."

As I was leaving, I noticed in his flyer that he was looking for those same series heads that I have. So I wanted to "test" him, and took the flier and asked him what he'd give for a set of 518 heads. He played dumb and asked, "What are those?"

I replied, "The ones in the flier here that you are looking for."

He said, "Oh, I'll give you $500 for them."

I laughed in his face while turning away and said, "Yeah, right...."
:finga: :finga: :finga:

$1200 and "no dealing" on an intake, carb, and linkage setup, but my heads are only worth $500.... FLIPPER.... :finga: :finga: :finga:

"You want to suck my what????

After going back and investigating those crappy heads you posted[lmao] They appear to be untouched non modified castings, very nice stuff and very desirable, and the rockers look like very little use,amazing...and they worked like no other, and worth a chunk or 2 of coinage...they should've made alum copies of these instead of the others in my opinion...

Are KrazyKuda's heads stage III heads ?
