1st autocross run.

Lee you should start looking at scca now with the Cam class its for muscle cars and fairly open to mods. Its just now starting out and we need to start getting more cars out of the Bay area. You can also run out of the sac chapter I think there is another org also. I have been thinking for years about converting my Duster over from Drag racing to autox now might be the time. I was just hoping to hit the 10s with the Duster and then convert it. I have a friend in the Sac area that is running a 71 Dart also. Joe

JohnFM3 there was a little of everything, I went back two weeks ago w/ the power rack swap and put a few clicks of compression in the shocks and it seemed to help out a lot. ordered the 1 1/8" sway bar from HDK so that will help a lot also. vettes, 350 z's, evo, triumph w/ a buick v6 , miatas, wide variety of cars. I was the only mopar though.

March 6-8 Big autox Cam challenge You have to look it up for more info to much info scca event its out in the valley . My friends running his 71 Dart. Theres also the big Optima challenge at Thunderhill this weekend to late to enter but it would be good spectating. Im going to Sac Sat for a tnt On my Duster at the drag strip gotta check some changes I made.
 
One big thing is to get all your tire heights the same. You are running a 25.7 tire in the front and a 26.7 in the rear. that in itself is asking for understeer. Second is to get the Rear low. Using a flatter spring that doesn't require blocks more than a .5" would help to. What is the alignment? What were your times compared to people in your class?
 
Lots of good info here guys-thanks. I'm in the process of re-restoring my Duster. Ever since I first built it, it transformed into mostly a drag car. When it goes back together, I want to try my hand at turns instead of going straight. I have lots to learn about suspension setup. I'd prefer to learn what can now so I don't waste money buying parts that won't work.

just got the springs back from being de-arched 2" (betts spring san leandro $100 flat). will post pics once back on the ground.
