I currently swapped out my 8 1/4 rear end with a 8 3/4 for my 1975 dodge dart swinger. I needed something bigger. Now I am trying to sell the old 8 1/4 rear end. I have a few things that go with it like 3.91 richmond gears and a carrier for the gears. It just needs a rebuild kit and someone could just bolt it right in. What do you guys think I should sell it for?

So it's got stock open gears in it now? What ratio now, like 2.45?

You have a new or used 3.91 Richmond gears and a carrier that fits those gears. Does the carrier in the rear currently not accept that low of gear?

So, there is no sure grip as part of the deal?

I'm thinking about $150-$225 on just the drum to drum rear. Around $100 +/- for gears and carrier.

Most anyone going to 3.91's wants or has a sure grip carrier, so I don't know if a open carrier really adds much value to that person. A 3.21 or 2.94 person might be ok with an open carrier that accepts gears 2.73 or lower if they have a 2.20 or 2.45 carrier currently. Might think about splitting those up. Or selling the carrier with the rear end if it's 2.20 or 2.45 gears as that should help that sale.
