Purpose of Convertible Top Well Liner

Seperates the trunk space from the passenger compartment. A soft, inverted, lack of package tray.

That was my guess. I didn't think it was anything more than that but wanted to be sure. I need to put shoulder seatbelts and need a mounting point. Thanks.

and it collects water leaking in and drains it to the bottom, if its the same as B bodys. MT

Mine catches the leaves falling from the trees while parked. Are the shoulder belts for the front seats? I mounted them on the side panels after reinforcing them. That way it doesn't interfere with the top going up and down. Need Pictures?

My plan is to put shoulder belts in the back with an idea borrowed/stolen from a fellow forum member. In the front I'm thinking about putting in Sebring seats with the integrated seatbelt. Right now I'm in the information gathering stage.

Do you have pics of your setup?

I would love to see some pics of the front seatbelt mounts. How did you reinforce the panels?

I welded a steel plate on the inside of the side panel (the quarters were cut off at the time). It could have been welded on the interior side though. The belts are out of a 70's Duster. The second picture shows behind the side panel. The silver bolt with no threads on the end towards the bottom center of the picture is the shoulder belt mounting bolt.

The water collection function is actually pretty key. Otherwise, it's gonna collect under the seat and rust out your floorboards. Maybe you think you never drive it in rain, but do you wash it?

Great point! Thanks.

Thanks for the pics! I wonder if this type setup would work with the stock bucket seats, draping the shoulder part over the top of the seat?

Yes they will. I had stock 69 seats with head rests in the car at first and they worked fine. The Summit seats that are in there now work well with the 5 point harness used for racing.

I have the same style seats in my '68, and the shoulder belts attach to the rear seatbelt mounts near the trans tunnel. They have a quick disconnect feature in case someone needs to sit back there. I bought them from the place I sourced the seats. They make for a nice restraint system consisting of two shoulder belts through the seat with a single strap to the rear seatbelt mount and a lap belt.

I have a rollbar too, but it is only a four point without the crossbar, so my back seat is still functional.
