A body Mopar cars made?

-
Round2 amt is re releasing the Jim Cushman modified Duster soon. There was still talks of a rerelease of the 71 Dodge demon, Its taking them longer than expected cause its been rumored that they are retooling the 71 duster body molds to a Dodge Demon. Now if you go towards the Resin route there are many A bodies to be had for one to purchase at reasonable prices. But be cautious of the quality you are looking at from one Resin company to another.

I'd LOVE to see a '71 Demon done again.... I never had/got one YEARS ago, but now, I'd LOVE to see it! Got a few ideas to make a couple of them......

-I also would not mind seeing a '70 Dodge Dart.... or a '71 Dart Swinger!!!!

I know I have been waiting for the Demon myself, I even tried to get a Resin one but the one I got was so poorly cast that there was no salvaging it. In fact I sent it back to the Guy I had ordered it from with the promise to get a better (useable) one in return, instead received nothing in return. However I did keep the good parts it came with. The Grill, front valance, hood and dual snorkel hood, and its a 72 grill so if they ever release the 71 I will be converting mine to a 72. I agree about a 70's A body that isn't a Duster or Demon, It would be nice to see a Dart or Scamp for change, although like I said before If one really wants there are Resin versions out there just have to be careful with what you get.

WELL, I know a Resin company (with a decent casting background) that makes a conversion to take a '71 Duster and make it a Demon..... -I have NOT looked to see just how that might work to see if its "decently" done as a representation of the car.....

The '70 Dart or Scamp is a GREAT idea! -I've never found anything tho, or know who does it.....

I have the Bandit Resin one that I got straight from them. I haven't done anything with it yet, but I was happy with the quality of what I received. I wish someone would make a full kit of it though, as the resin trans kits get expensive with the resin and donor kit combined. I'd buy at least several full 70-72 Dart kits. I'd be embarrassed to say what I paid for my Mirada resin trans kit!

I need a 67 Belvedere wagon resin body.

Anyone got one they're not going to get around to?

$40 isn't bad for that '70 Dart tho, (At least I don't think IF its a good resin casting!)

I may have to look into that kit a bit further tho.... NOW if I could find a single '71 Demon grill to see what it take to mold it I'd have it made! (I think I could mold it for use to fit the '71 Duster from AMT-Ertl.)

Resin Mirada, I can only imagine!

Good luck, I have yet to see one for sale, and sadly those who might have one, probably be not to willing to let go of it.

Check on a place called Star Models, They have a lot of R&R resin body and kits. I believe they have a 67 belvedere station wagon for sale on there web site. Not sure of the price they had on it tough.

Thanks guys. I saw them a couple years ago for about 40 bucks.

Of course that was a year before I bought a real 67 Belvedere wagon ... ... ...

I have that 62 Dart (note that it's a B body).

IIRC it was available as 2D, 4D or convertible.
Mine is a 4D. The doors do not open, but the torsion bars work.

I also have a 62 Lancer 2D and a 63 Valiant 4D!

I believe there was a 68 Barracuda (although the tooling may have been irreversibly changed to make the 69 model (that happens sometimes).

...and finally, I have an MPC 1974 Duster. This was offered in both kit and as a "promo".

If anyone has a hood for this model....I've been looking since 1987!

I've been looking for a 62 Valiant model for some time. If you knew where I could get one, a 62 Lancer would be close enough. Unless they thought it was made of gold or something.

-ANYONE have a '68 Dart body and power bulge hood in 1/25th scale? (I need this to complete a model I have!)

This is a fun thread, I have been building model cars since the mid '60's. Growing up in Pomona CA within earshot of the Winternationals Drag Races certainly had an influence on me. I have the MPC Mopar Missile '73 Duster kit and the Butch Leal California Flash '72 Duster that I built when they were $3.00 each. There was talk last year that the '71 Demon would be released again, don't know where that stands now. I have a resin Demon body with a donor Duster kit to build. I used a resin '70 Dart and Duster kit to build my in-process '70 Dart full size car. Many decals are available for kits on ebay for different A-body cars, stock and drag. Resin bodies are also available, a bit pricey, but you can make some of the '65 or '66 Dart Funny Cars. Have fun building!

Thanks man! Yeah, I can only wish the resin stuff was more affordable (I get into the build of models all the time so....) BUT your right, there are a few oddities out there in resin! IF you keep an eye out once in awhile you catch one at a better price! (On Ebay!) so.....
