I'm replacing the Edelbrock somebody installed on my 74 360 with the correct Thermoquad and wondered if anybody knew what is correct for holddowns. Bolts or studs? Using the thick factory baseplate gasket if it makes a diff. Thanks.

I have always had bolts as stock equipped to hold the carb down.

Whatever you can get to work with clearance to install and remove easily...

Bolts is factory. I always use studs up front and bolts in the back, holds the gasket in place.

would a 440 and 340 be the same ???

the link above says for a 340 but I need the correct ones for a 74 440 so are they exactly the same??

if anyone knows

Same carb, same size holes, same baseplate gasket. Not seeing any reason why it wouldn't work. I just ordered new ones from AMK fasteners.:burnout:

As long as it fits the hole...

It doesn't matter if you use bolts or studs, as long as they are done properly..

What is easier for you to get to?

As long as you get enough clamp to seal...
