Hey guys I was just about to install my new input shaft bushing (what a thought was brass) but it put a magnet to it and it stuck.. my old bushing was brass and my new one must be some kind of metal. Is it ok to still use it? Thanks

Bushings are bronze. I prefer the dakota roller bearing for what its worth. Install what you have. grease it

I was just worried about somthing possibly wearing prematurely.. I did get the part from National Moparts (Canada ) witch are usually known for good products.. I guess I will use it. Thanks

I would not. Bronze bushings are NOT magnetic. For the large bearing you can get either bushing or roller. The problem with the small size bushing (original) is that some crank recesses are not machined to finish diameter.

I have NOT installed it yet because it has been bugging me, it doesn't make sense to remove a bronze bushing and install a iron based (steel) bushing. I am not a expert at what bushing to use so I will wait for a little more advice. This is not a job I want to do a third time.. thanks

You can't run steel on steel without it burning up.
Not sure why your new bushing would be magnetic.
Get the mopar bronze part.

That's disappointing. . Why would Nation Moparts sell this product? Well.. another hold on the project.
