I had that same relief a few years ago. Never again!

only way to remove them. glorious

mine have been sitting in pieces next to the garage all winter. just went to the scrap yard this morning.

That's your problem right there;not enough backpressure. Everybody knows an engine needs some backpressure!.............NOT!
I even had the sales person at TTI tell me that, when I ordered dual 3inchers for my 360. Pshaw I said. Just send me the 3s please.

Jeez, if the engine was a half point rich that would kill off some power in that test. They should have jetted the carb so it was equivalent A/F or closer and see what the result would have been. I bet the 2.5 would have closed the gap a little.

OP, that' a VERY familiar looking setting of hooker headers. I've had a couple set just like them! LOL

That's What I thought too. I thought boy those guys are just lazy.
I would have liked to see a third test too; with 3"pipes to the 3" inlet muffs and 2.5 out to the back;or even 2.25s.Yeah, that's what I'd like to see.

And then I watched them yank a 351C out of a cougar, and that whole debacle. And that was their premier episode. And it was a Freebie! Yay....... And they want me to pay for future episodes?
I think not!
I would have set that episode on fire and buried it where no one could ever find it.

When we did our testing at the track, we found that good mufflers and good systems only reduced trap speed due to their weight. Glad to see the Hot Rod boys found the same thing even with their 600 plus big Chevy.
They would have gotten better results and almost the same sound reduction with the 2.5" mufflers and tailpipes had then been able to run 3.0" back to the muffler but that is not what they were trying to demonstrate.
Great job!
Tom

It was a good video. Like said above with the testing, but how about part throttle testing as it would be driven, and one with a crossover pipe in both diameter pipes.
Man, If I only had my own dyno...
