I was talking to a guy last week and he put it this way-the government pays soldiers and it also pays the ones that will not work. Guess which receives the most? Not my philosophy but I will leave it to the individual to discern the two

I carry that Honor proudly but quietly each day and just shake my head when I hear negative comments from those that never had the privilege of serving this great nation. So many people just do not understand that FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.
 
The last part of ocdarts reply is truer than some of the people who live here realize, "FREEDOM IS NOT FREE". Colin Kaepernick needs to be put in a uniform and dropped with some of our troops in a hot battle zone. My personal belief is that it will change his thoughts on sitting during our National anthem. Rant over...
 
I am a combat veteran.I have always said that everyone needs to experience 1 day in the life of a combat veteran. Changes your life forever.
 
Thank You ,Halifax Hops,and O C Dart..Freedom for the majority,means a deep commitment,for a few.....It's a damn shame,most people don't realize it...(Peace through strength of arms to bear,but not vengeful...)
 
thanks Hops, spent 14 months in Vietnam infantry so I know exactly what it means. Back then my first months check was $65 after deductions. Now people think they are worth that much an hour. btw it was nice meeting and talking with you at Carlisle
 
Amen, brother! No one know's the sacrifice that all military members make until they put that uniform on, doesn't matter what branch, active or not they all sacrifice! US Navy desert vet!
