One day recently I had to go into town real early and my car was frozen solid.
We have a little electric 1500 watt room heater that I took out and set in the floor of the car and 10 min later I went back out to start the car and let it warm up.
Well after that 10 min all the windows were defrosted and even the seats and steering wheel were warm, and that lasted till the motor was warm and the heat worked.

So, I went down to Wally world and got another heater for my car and it can just stay in there until winter is over. (it was only 17 bucks with tax)
The car is parked close to an outlet on the outside of the house so it worked out great.
When not in use it's going to stay in the trunk.

Now it's soooo much nicer to go get the car warmed up in the morning when it's freezing cold out.
Don't know why I didn't do this years ago, :D

Those little heaters have kill switches if they tip over. Excellent idea I'm going to get one for my truck

Just be careful it don't start a fire. Ya know tip over or something like that.

Yes they do, and this one also has overheat protection and two temp settings.
Low works just fine, and I set it in the middle of the floor board in front of the seat facing forward so it has a couple of feet clear.
It also has a thermostat control so you can pick the temp you want it to maintain.
Got this one because it is smaller.

My buddy set up something similar on his airplane. He got a cell phone controlled outlet so he can call to turn it on before he leaves home to go flying. Then when he gets to the plane, it is already nice and toasty and the engine heater has warmed up the block too.

Something so simple that makes such a HUGE difference.
Like I said, don't know what took me so long.:D

I ran a plug in one, on low, on the center console of my 1997 Ram in freezing weather. It was flawless. Truck was completely ice free next AM with on the lowest setting.

because years ago you were younger and the cold didn't bother you so much.. now, well you know, add a few birthdays and here we are... :poke::D

Your car has heat?
Sissy.

The fan in the dodge only works on "high". By the time I get the windshield defogged, I'm on the interstate and can let cowl pressure take over pushing air into the car, IF I need "heat".
The way I dress, not often.
Hey this day in 1962 the low was subzero in some parts of Georgia I heard on the radio this AM.
But I see the high is going to be like -1 in Bismark ND one day this week.
Yikes.

That actually could be a good part of it. :D

It's not bad at all right now but when it gets down in the 16 degree range it sucks.
That day I mentioned about the car being frozen was a bit unexpected, and it put to thinking about the rest of the winter.
