My '66 Dart is getting a 5.7 hemi and with it I'd like to give it a modern wiring harness, fuse block, etc. I've looked at ez-wiring and a few others, just looking for recommendations for a universal harness that is modernized over being a reproduction style replacement.

I know it's a bit pricey, but American Autowire has a good reputation here. They also have a kit for A-Body Mopars. 1967-75 Mopar A Body Classic Update Kit | American Autowire

It's sort of a modernized reproduction replacement, so not sure if that will fit you needs. I know it definitely isn't setup for a Gen 3 Hemi, but at least it will get your wiring in check with modern fuses and better gauge wiring.

Other than American Autowire, there's also Ron Francis Wiring as well as Painless Performance for universal kits.

If you want to build your own relay box, and you just might so you can wire up the Hemi, then take a look at this series of instructions to wire up a Bussman Relay box.

Yeah, one of these days I'd like to build me a relay box like that for head lights, fan, and engine electrical, interior electrical. It would be nice to have everything all in one box.
 
If you build one of those boxes, make darn sure you feed it with an ample sized feed line. I see these things all the time being fed by a single 10-12ga wire.

Serious?!?! That's crazy. If I were to build one, I'd probably use 2 gauge wire with 4 gauge being the minimum I'd use.

For now, I'm using your headlight kit and it works great and easy to install. I'm even using your alternator wrap around to feed the Toyota alternator which works great as well.
 
Wow, lots of info here. Thanks to everyone so far for throwing in their thoughts. My original post lacked quite a bit of specificity so I'll try to expound further here. Like I'm doing with my ECU for the hemi, I want something that is weather sealed and can be entirely mounted within the engine bay. Incorporated relays sounds useful and would definitely clean up packaging and wire routing. Id also like it to be compact, mainly using mini fuses and/or relays. In addition to all of that dream sheet, I want it to be affordable. I started looking at EZ wiring for how cost effective they were and I only ever read good things. Coach definitely seems higher end and maybe beyond what I really need. Ron Francis always seemed geared towards the "numbers matching" crowd and Painless seems to have mixed opinions. I only recently started looking at American Auto Wire. So far JoesEdge brought up the most interesting option with DIY, I'm reading it fervently. Keep 'em coming!
 
I used the painless kit. Pretty easy as long as you know car wiring.
