Hey everyone, finally decided to make a spare set of keys for my demon, i got 2 ignition and 2 trunk blanks oem off of ebay, i was wondering where was the best place to have keys cut? Any experiences? I know my lowes and ace hardware cuts them but just wondering what is the most popular place to take them.

Had mine done at Ace hardware
:thumbsup: Me too. We have a Ace up the street. I don't think they have ever duplicated a key that didn't work. They always run the old ones over the wire brush a extra time or two. Those old locks and tumblers are worn and like smooth edges.

Another vote for Ace. I never had a problem. Just make sure they de-burr the key after cutting. You don't want sharp edges doing damage to decades-old lock cylinders as TMM said.

Any hardware store or locksmith shop.
not just any hardware store.... the cooperate name doesn't mean anything... find that Hardware store that has soooo much stuff it doesn't fit on the shelves and there dos not seem to be a rhyme or reason to the organization of anything but the old guys working there know where everything is. the price tags are hand written and it helps if the floors squeak.
Sigh. OK I just have to give the shout out / rant to Johnson Hardware on Portland Ave in Bloomington MN ( home town) Just solid classy guys.

There's a lot of truth in your words. The Ace hardware here in my town is just such a place. Definitely not a big box store, they do it right with employees that have been there for many years. Not true for all Ace stores, but many are like that. Hell, my Ace still sells fishing licenses and live bait!

100% agreement on the local Ace stores. I have never had a problem with a key from Ace. However, my wife and a couple of the guys in my office have used Lowe's and Home Depot, and they have had problems every time.

We have an Ace also and if it's every day stuff I go there. We also have a local hardware store that is family owned since the 50's. Like was said no more room but the owners can walk right to the nut, bolt or washer. I swear these guys are just like us gear heads, if your just working on something but not sure what you need or can use to get the job done they will spend however long it takes to come up with something that will work.

Needless to say, this is where I had my MoPar key blanks cut.
