75 duster floor pans

this is the first time I installing floor pans i know that there is going to be a lot of spot welding but is it as simple taking off the floor pans, cleaning the welding surface, drilling holes for the welds and screw it on tight to hold the pan and start welding on opposite ends so it doesn't bend on me. has any one done this before and let me know if im missing something or any tips?

The 75-6 A body had a hump in the passenger side floor pan for the cat converter and the seat frame was made shorter on 1 leg to compensate for it if your using the 75-6 seat and frame. Just a heads up

I wonder if a 75-76 360 Duster had a different floorpan? Two reliefs maybe?
 
FYI.....the 75 Duster I dis-mantled had galvanized floor pans.

Drop the pan into place, climb under the car to and trace out the crossmembers with a silver sharpie. When you pull it out and flip it over you'll know exactly where to prep and drill. With thin floor pans I like to prep with a scotch-brite roloc disc opposed to grinding discs etc. It's a good time to clean up and protect the insides of the crossmembers while you have access and maybe do some addition welding where the crossmembers tie together with each other and to the inner rockers instead of them being held together solely with spot welds on tabs. I pulled the The passenger quarter glass to get it in the car and I started at the hump/brace at the trans tunnel for fitment. It seems to be where the fitment issue is. Other then that It fell in place.

I got the floor pan from eastwood and there is no cut reliefs on the panel. my duster is a base model with a slant six
 
One other thing, when you do the test fit with the earlier pan check the holes for the seat belt acnchors at the rocker below the quarter glass. I think it's like a 1 inch hole I had to drill for the anchor as the original that can out had the hole in a slightly different place.
