Anyone have or know of a source for the throttle cable grommet or "insulator 14-25-17" as it appears to be described in the picture?

I just had my 67 apart, I think it is just a rubber washer, get them at Home Depot

The insulator in that diagram is the firewall insulation.

Since you mentioned grommet, you want the ring in the image.

I needed one of these C clips and was able to grab one off of a newer ram truck at the junk yard.

I recently replaced the original throttle cable with the same setup. I can see how this part can also deteriorate with time. I found this part on ebay.
Here is the link and PN #: pn 2128347 Hope this helps

Okay, There was a grommet, or "insulator" on the throttle cable from the factory. It's made of a soft rubber material, not hard rubber like most grommets.
Attached are photos of an original and a repo throttle cable with an original damaged "grommet", washer and E clip.

Note the wide space between the plate that fits against the firewall and where the E clip fits.
That is where the grommet/insulator goes.
I solved the issue of filling up that space by using Cuda Al's suggestion of using 2 rubber washers and several flat washers.

That grommet is actually attached to the main plate that is secured to the firewall. Mine is still soft and pliable - not bad for 53 years old

That's it, 65 Dartman! Mine is not that nice, and since the replacement throttle cable firewall fitting is larger than the original, I just used rubber washers..
It amazes me that many of the original grommets are still usable after 53 years on an engine firewall!
