Can a power steering box be removed and reinstalled with out disturbing the 340 motor.Hoping we can pull the starter and steering column and get to it. Thanks in advance!
Thanks for the infoYou should be able to remove it with the starter and steering column in place. I would pull the pump and battery tray out first to gain some working room.
Thanks for the info
Haven't got to it yet but looking at I think your right about having to raise motor up a bit to clear. Thanks for the reply!Did you do it yet?
I would have given a different answer; no.
I tried for hours before I bit the bullet and unbolted the engine mounts and jacked it up a tiny bit to clear everything.
I tend to do stuff the Max Power way (like the wrong way, only faster) way so maybe you had better luck!

After reading all of the replies and me saying that it should be able to be done without lifting the motor. I started to think how I did it with the motor in place. Well it was sometime ago and it was on a SB 1967 Coronet. An entirely different car.You should be able to remove it with the starter and steering column in place. I would pull the pump and battery tray out first to gain some working room.
