Finally heard back from the folks at Lakewood and my scatter shield is DONE. Recerted and now has a nice big window in the bottom so I can adjust the clutch without killing myself.

Damn I'm glad I got it done.

for the next excuse. lol jpar is going to make a solo pass for the win!

Don't get your panties in a bunch. It's so freaking hot right now the LAST place I want to be is a drag strip. It's getting melt your face off hot here. And my shop ain't air conditioned. Neither is the car. With a black interior I'd be sweating like a ***** in church. I don't like to sweat. It goes against my work smart not hard ethos.

If it took a year and a half to get a two step installed, (took me 5min. and two zip-tys) how long will it take to get a bellhousing out and in!??

Just flat out forget the Dart Sport...…. I suggest YR just pull out his "new" Duster, with the 318 that he guesses goes 13's, and meet Jpar with that BEFORE he decides to work on it.... cause once YR starts to wrench, race is called off till 2038 (going out 20 years seem logical) :D

Nice man. I just sent my QuickTime Bell for them to do. I don't have an adjustable clutch, I'm just starting out, but I think having an inspection cover/window is still a good idea so I wanted it done. IMO, they should have a drop down menu for this option when we buy these so it'll save $60 dollars or so on shipping. I wonder how the fit is between the Lakewood and the QuickTime in our cars. Post pics when ya get it.

So, I have an old lakewood, how often do they need to be certified? sounds like a money maker to me, what happend to the scatter shield if it sits in my garage for 20 years, does the metal go bad,? do they re temper it? what do they do for my $400 bucks?

Piss on that. The Duster is still sitting there.

I already have the installer guy ready and a blank check. As soon as the brown truck drops it off the scatter shield will be on.

If you run 11.50 and slower you don't even need a scatter shield. I think it's nuts to not have one.

It's not that the metal goes bad...it's that dudes modify stuff and can ruin the integrity of the part. I don't remember how long the certain lasts.

I can't remember what just the certain costs. I had them out a window in mine and do the cert. I don't like fighting with asshat tech inspectors so I just had it all done at once.
