1967 dart covertible top

Get it hot in the sun. My Original top is so tight due to age that if it is not hot it can't latch.

What I have done is get it up as far as it will go then let it sit in the sun and when hot do the final latch

Too tight even with the side glasses lowered? If it's a power top is fluid loss the issue? That is the most common problem.
Adjustments; The header section is bolted in slotted holes. Impossible to access those with the top on it. They alter overall length, wouldn't do what you want anyway. The bows are in slotted holes. I don't think those would get what you want either. For removing slack between the bows. Some of them have little stop screws in one or more hinge points that set the roof/ridge line atop the side glasses. I forget what frame had those. Again probably wont help.
The entire assembly is bolted in slotted holes behind the rear interior panels. So this would be similar to adjusting a door. The assembly is so heavy it might drop even with glasses up, frame latched, and fabric applying tension. Eccentrics at these bolts would have been a blessing. At best, if my memory serves, there is a extra hole to poke a dowel rod into.
I wouldn't be brave enough to attempt without first calling a friend at local trim shop for some insight. In my imagination I can hear him say, " If you shift/rotate the frame assembly it will apply additional pressure on the quarter glasses. Bring it on. I'll put a new top on it before you break the latches."
