More RobKat progress........

My '83 Mustang ragtop had those 390mm rims. It was part of the handling package for the GTs. At the time the ONLY tires made for them were Michelins. Not those exact rims. Those Michelins were sticky an soft 20K was about all I got out of them but they did stick.

.Yeah I remember those....but these are a bit different. I'm gonna be runnin the Ford Magnum 500s so it doesn't matter anyway.

No it ain't. This is a Mercury. How dare you say it's the same as a lowly Ford. LOL

Seriously, there are some pretty big differences. The hood being the biggest. They are totally different. The grilles are different. I always say the difference in Ford and Mercury was Mercury had a little more flash and chrome trim. The Pinto had a cheap *** plastic grille, but the Bobcat had a cheap *** chromed pot metal grille. See what I mean? LOL
Found this tangerine dream. Their shirts kill me.

Im likeing the way its going. Watching this one.
Interesting build.

Got any better pics of those wheels? They almost look like some old alpina style BMW wheels. I've had several older BMW's and always liked the 80's and 90's alpina styling.

I'll take some tomorrow and post.

More turbo motor progress. Water pump, pulley, harmonic balancer, turbo oil return fitting in oil pan and installed oil pan. Alternator and belt drive next, then the blow through carburetor conversion.

What kind of turbo lag you think it will have with that size turbo? Curious....Nice build...

It's not that big at all. The turbine is the same size as stock. The compressor is rated the same as stock. The compressor is larger in diameter, but thinner than stock, if that makes sense. It's "supposed" to be right on the mark for a 2.3. "We'll find out". lol I have a stock Turbo Coupe turbo and there's not much difference at all.

Nice....the turbo on my 2.0 TDI diesel is tiny compared to that....

my aunt and uncle had a green mercury bobcat. They owned it for several years

A,friends dad (Damn good professional wrench, 100 percent Blue Oval..) procured a wrecked '88 T Bird 2.3 turbo.
He stuffed the T5 ,2.3 Turbo ,and the 88 T Bird 8.8 rear end in a 71 Pinto .
Geez ,that machine CRANKED ,with the boost up.

I tell you what. I drove an SVO and a 5.0 GT Mustang on the same day. SVO hands down had that 5.0 beat.

Hey, that 2.3 turbo was my idea!

Those kind of look like fox body capri wheels.

Bobcat had a nicer interior that a pinto as well.

You need to find some of those plaid seats in blue.
