I'm looking for a good reference picture of a 273 with a 4bbl, without the air cleaner, with a carter AFB and the original divorced choke design. I cant seem to find an original choke for the 4bbl for the 65..
The secondary butterflies may open with that carb on a 273 intake but the secondaries probably won't open fully. The 273 carb has small butterflies and corresponding holes in the intake. The big block carbs are larger.I found a 3615S, which is for a 64 383/413. Its specs ~625 cfm vs 500 cfm.
I was able to find a 3854S but unable to obtain yet. But the 3615 and 3854 use the same bolt pattern, just slightly larger internals. I found a couple part numbers.. 2468738/170ba-817s
The best thing to do is open a wanted ad here. We all have a carb or two stuck on a shelf somewhere. You may find exactly what you need.I have thought about changing the cam, still on the fence. I'm looking for a modest gain, this car is light on its feet as it is, and still purrs like a true mopar. I'd like to keep that option open.
If anyone has a 3854S, I can rebuild it. Make me an offer, or I'll return/sell/trade the 3615S I have.
I put a 600 Edelbrock on mine when I was chasing a rich running issue and it never left. The electric choke works great. I did machine the secondaries on the intake. So should I keep my 3615 or find a 3854? I'm still undecided if i want to commit to something that is not a stock replacement.
No interference.I put a 600 Edelbrock on mine when I was chasing a rich running issue and it never left. The electric choke works great. I did machine the secondaries on the intake.
You can't ask here. This is not a wanted thread. So anyone got a choke?
