Purchased this car several years back and both door locks do not work. The locks and latches appear to be original to the car.
It's weird when you go to push the lock button down it stops half way down, like it is hitting something solid. Door key does the same thing, only goes part way the stops dead.
Pulled the door panels off and found nothing out of place, dont know what is going on.
Short of buying new door latches I thought I would throw it out here and see if anyone has run into this before.
Thanks

I have gutted and replaced the inner door stuff on my 69 Barracuda Fastback twice. It sounds like something is hanging up. Does the latching mechanism work OK for just opening and closing the doors? Here is what I would do. First, I would make a good sketch of where all the rods go and how they pop into place. Then disconnect the rods from the key lock and the push button lock. If they both work smoothly now, the problem is in the latch (most likely). Then take the latch out and inspect it. They are quite basic in their operation. after a few minutes of playing with it, I can almost guarantee that you will see how the mechanism works, and you will figure out where the problem is. I bet it will be something you an take care of yourself.

Interested, my driver side door lock does the exact same thing.

Please let me know if you find the issue.

I also pulled the door panel and can't see anything that stands out as broken or wrong.

I hope you figure it out!

Both doors open and close just fine.
The strange part is I dont believe these pieces have ever been out of the car.

Double check them, my 67 door latches will only go to lock with the door closed, striker needs to be in latched positlon for them to be key locked or button pushed down.

Easy check... with door opened, use a screw driver or something to operate the latch to fully latched ( 2 clicks I think ). Does the lock work? If so the door striker isn't properly operating the latch mechanism. These Chrysler bodies are so soft at the latch post that we can grab the post with pliers and change its angle. Striker may be leaned downward and/or inward from square with the latch where door hinges are failing. My striker needed some correction after the hinges were renewed.

A slight adjustment of the latch post and the locks no magical work.
