Ya, i get it that your saying posting the deadbeat's user ID here on the forum can be of help to others that may be contemplating purchasing items from that seller.
But in the eyes of Pay Pal, the op was going around the rules in purchasing PARTS, and paying for them with friends and family payment.
Sure, I'v paid friends and family to sellers that i know from these internet forums, and people have paid me thru friend and family, as they in turn know my reputation in selling parts.
Friends and family is good, ok, until something like this goes wrong, putting the monkey wrench into the deal.
Pay Pal is the money transfer service, between the parties involved, and that's about it.
The op DIDN'T buy the parts from the Pay Pal organization, company.

Ya, they ding you the 3% on the amount, goods and services, plus 35 cents for the transaction.
So i guess that 35 cent charge would be goods and services, or friends and family, too.

There is a KNOWN POS back on here that is back up to his old tricks. Owner and some mods know ...

I've sent "f n f" several times. $3.00(at least) fee.

Don't know about that.
Never happened to me before.

Maybe for you they consider it an international transaction?
The difference between currencies, in a foreign transaction?

And it depends on how you made that payment, and for what amount.
Credit card, balance in your account, bank account, and other restrictions that i can't remember.

I bought some tail lights from Danny Bruley aka ksdbru7878 on the 27th , he said he sent them on the 30th ,but I have not received them or tracking . I sent him 2 messages looking for a tracking # , with no response. I paid with regular paypal not F/F and am going to give them a call since he has not responded and it looks like other people are having the same issue. Paypal has good customer service and even if you paid F/F ,they can see when someone is scamming people and will likely refund you . Paypal customer service 1 (888) 221-1161

BTW, I would suggest that the OP put up a quote on the bottom of his post that says " I sent Dan Bruley money and never got my part! ASK ME about him!"
 
Paypal is not going to roll over and pay you back even if you "ask nicely" or give them a sob story.

Their rules are stated in VERY plain, easy-to-understand English all over their policy page. Calling and alerting them to the plain fact you bought goods through the Friends & Family option is going to negatively impact YOUR paypal account while doing nothing to the seller's.

If the guy's ad is still posted, your only recourse is to add negative feedback here on the forum. You can't help yourself in this case but maybe you can help another member from falling prey to a deadbeat thief.

Wow, that must be a line right out of a scammers book. “My wife packed it up yesterday”. I have seen that one on a couple of posts. Good luck.

They will back you of your paying for goods or services. If you send it "friends and family" what is there to dispute? You changed your mind??
 
Consider this...I once had a conversation with a co-worker of mine who was pissed that his “buddy” borrowed $75 from him, and then was avoiding him and not taking his calls. I plainly stated...”hey, you got off cheap”. He answered...”what do you mean, he stole $75 from me!! My answer...”I would gladly have given that thief $75 to never see him again”!

$80 is a lot of money, but not the end of the world, and you learned an $80 lesson, pay the goods and services fee every time. What cost you $80 could’ve only cost you $3. Lesson learned!
 
My wife had a friend that always borrowed $20.00 between pay checks. Always paid he back. Then 1 time the wife never got paid back. The friend wanted to borrow again. The wife said no!!! U haven paid be back from the last time u borrowed. Haven’t seen her back here in years. The wife said it was the best $20. Bucks she ever spent. Kim
 
Riddle this for me, two gentleman have posted their short comings with a seller/ member right here on FABO. And of yet neither have the thought of using the feedback option which insures their opinion is seen by thousands of other members.....help others by helping yourself.

ksdbru7878 has been banned. I tried to get him to honor his commitments to you guys and here is his response. My recommendation is to reach out to paypal and dispute the charges. Sorry folks... I did what I could.

Also, NEVER pay by friends and family, money order, cash, etc. unless your confident the other person is reputable.
