DIY door panel

-
Easier said than done .. it looked like with some work it's something I could do. Nope. Mine just looked amateurish and something my car didn't deserve. After a few failed attempts I gave in and bought the door panels. As most things, it would take a lot of practice to do it well. Have a greater respect for the people who do it.
Thanks for the update. I kinda anticipate that outcome but I'm gonna give it a try. Where did you order the new ones from?

Wow those are amazing!!! You did that yourself?? You must be a pro!! Good work!

No I'm not a pro but I'm also not afraid to try things. I researched how it's done and went from there. It didn't look hard to do and away I went. I've also done minor upholstery in the past and have helped lots of friends on it.

The thin moving blankets from Harbor Freight are cheap as hell work good for padding under your vinyl or material as well as on the panel backs.
Mattress stores usually have a dumpster in the back with nice heavy plastic used to cover them in shipping.
I used the blanket material and plastic on the backs of the panels for sound and insulation as well as a moisture barrier.
The blanket material is thin enough so it doesn't interfere with the clips holding, and once installed you can't tell it's there.
Just leave the plastic unglued along the bottom of the panels for breathing.
