The tool that I have for setting the adjusters on an 8.25 is actually a piece of hex stock the length of the axel tube with a nut welded on to one end that fits the opening in the center of the adjuster. Use a ratchet with an appropriate sized socket on the free end of the hex stock. This is much different from the spanner used on an 8.75 differential.
