New glovebox liners for early a-bodies don't fit.

-
My original didn't have top screws. All it had was four holding it in and that's all it got back. Not like it's goin anywhere.

Mine had and has 6 glove box screws. If your not using all 6 screws then your is not in right. Your car but I also did not like the fact you reach inside and get cut with staples.
Just junk.

Oh gosh let me lose sleep at night. My car's not right. lol

Oh good lord! Now I'm gonna have to go out to the garage at 9:30 pm, get my 65 Barracuda down off the lift, and see how many screws are in my glove box, and whether it has a light or not! One things for sure...it no longer has a cable shift 904. I took it out today and it's laying in the floor!

The other day I pulled out my original 1966 glovebox to work on the defroster hoses. I layed it on the front floorboard.

A little while later I feel something in my side. Damned if I didn't lay on top of it crushing one side :BangHead:

Some trusty duct tape and back in it went.
As soon as that FABO member starts mass producing the plastic ones I'll buy one from him!!

And, MINE has all 6 screws!!! :poke:

here is a teaser (I'm getting close, fit is good ) but my cutting ability needs major improvement

Interesting. In almost 40 years of playing with them- I’ve never seen a early abody light. Anyone have a picture of one?

My 65 Dart has a light in the glove box. It was there when I purchased the car from the original owner.

I got one from APIPCO for my 69, it’s perfect!

65DartDD1-that picture is the money shot I was looking for. I have never seen a glove box lite for one of these cars before. I thought the hole was the light was over the box and shined they the hole. I’ve been trying to figure out where the switch goes.
Not much different than the trunk light on my 72 Demon. Or the glove box light for that matter. Thank you very much. Joe

DAaaaamn! I want one of those. I thought the light was on top too! So that's what the second hole is for. It looks like I'll have to add that back into the drilling procedure.

If you find a source please let me know. I need another one for the other car.

Maybe this will help with the replacement boxes.

I just scored one on ebay (well it looks like it's the one, but listed for another year.) I also got a light assembly(no bracket and new) only and am looking to see how hard it would be to make the Mount out of ABS to hang the light in it. But back to the glove box first.

DVert, you get a good production run and I’d buy one!!

I'll get a post going when the next tryout is happening. For some reason a pissy-A$$ hurricane is bothering me right when I wanted to test it out again. now the plastic has to go back into the drying box for another week%$^^#%^#%@

Stay safe!

Thanks, We are in pretty good shape here in central Florida. Nothing rough to speak of since it's offshore right now. But the humidity is killing my drying time and keeps putting me backwards when I check the humidity in the box....GAH! who'd a thunk that ABS ABSORBS water#$$#%#% it's plastic for god sake! AND my power blinked last night so that damned box powered down and didn't restart.

I got one I'm looking at, it's new but for a different ah ummmm foreign make. It doesn't have the bracket but looks like it will fit the original hole, so I'm exploring options to make an ABS bracket or even casting a bracket from Hi impact resin.
