Irr3333: That’s about where I am. Even in my 84 d100 the 318 rev limiter is set at 5500. It just an old truck but me and my son have a blast in it. Hell. I bought the motor, a518 trans, headers for 700 bucks. Came out of a wreck 90 model truck. We slapped a Ford 9 inch with some 3.73’s and a true TrAc. It’s the fastest trash truck in town lol. We call it rusty.

I had a slant six and looked at a 340 v a 360 and engine and what seemed like all after market parts were more expensive.
If price was not a factor for me I’d have rather gone with a 340 but since im poor as hell I got a running 360 and trans out of a motorhome pulled and delivered for 1000$. (That is a decent price where I am at)
Car is almost done and i cant wait!
Its gonna be my daily driver so i hope its reliable!
