So we went to Musclepalooza this weekend past at Lebanon Valley Dragway in NY,
135 miles from home. First run with the new Dynamic converter. 12.90 at 104.5.
Previous best was a 13.1 at 105.1. Couldn't get a good 60 foot time. 2.2 seconds
all the time. 1.8 this weekend, so a big improvement. Car ran a back up 12.90 so we
dialed in at 12.87. Car promptly broke out with a 12.69 at 106.6....of coarse...but we
were happy with the car. Should run faster at Epping which is sea level. LVD is 1000 feet
above. Mopar day Sept 28th!

Grats, going to try and hit the valley this weekend and the mopar event as well in oct

To be honest my son was driving and he told me it shot up to 4000 at launch. Its a Dynamic 9.5 inch 904 trans full manual valve body 391 gears 28 inch Nitto 275/60r15 drag tires Comp 268Solid
flat top 360. Car weighs 3420 with him in it. Full exhaust. I may jet up as the plugs look lean. 750 vac carb . Good luck at LVD. I like the way they run the track there. Epping can be a long wait between rounds….

Now you try to figure out why the car picked up to a 12.69 after running a 12.90. Did the weather change, stage at a higher rpm, shift at a higher or lower rpm. Etc etc. if you don’t keep records you can’t learn from past passes. Good luck and have fun.

Im pretty sure it was the weather as lots of people were doing the same. It is odd though as it was cool and 61 and nice in the morning and at break out run it was cloudy and spitting a little rain, like it went dry to humid, which usually slows the mph down. Its tough at LVD as it is 1000 feet up. Some people I know don't like to run there as they run slower. We were just looking for a 12 so I wasn't too concerned.

Is that your duster?...

Yes, well....my sons. I bought it for him when he was 12. He is 23 now and says its my car. Probably cause I pay for everything!
It is titled to both of us as he was too young to straight title it to him.

That's a great place to be! The breakage is minimal and the fun is maximal. I never bothered with keeping up with every little detail because I just wanted to have fun when I was doin it. Not that there's anything wrong with that......and surely it will help you speed the car up and know WHY it's doing certain things.......I just never wanted to race "that hard" because to me, that took some of the fun out. Fun yes and not too much into the car. The solid cam, rockers and converter were a big chunk of change but the car definitely likes it.
Glad my son can cut decent lights. Although his burn out procedure of bounce it off the rev limiter in 2nd wasn't what I wanted to hear!

But hay, the rev limiter is THERE. LMAO

Looking at your plug I think you could lean it out a bit. But if you're going to be racing at lower elevation it will lean out on its own. I would also prefer to run a wideband if you really want more accurate Air Fuel readings. I was into the turbo dodges so widebands are my go to.

Congrats! Isn't it cool to see what a good converter can do?
Have fun!

Awesome color! That's exactly the way I think I'm going to do my car. Is that the snake skin vinyl?

BAHAHAHA....
I appreciate you thinking so much of me! LOL
I was thinking more along the lines of it takes one to know one? I suck at drag racing....

I've been able to afford to go twice this year, one time it cost me $70 and one time it cost me $65.... Plus gas! Oh yeah and I have to take my wife out to dinner to make her forget how much I scared her in the car on the drive there and back! Yes it is expensive....
FYI, it was 12 second runs...

I’m leaving today at 4pm for a one time trial race tonight then another race tomorrow. Going to unload the race car Sunday and throw a Just In Time transbrake switch in my car and test Friday night and run no box in a two day race next weekend. I’m prepping for a big no box race at Norwalk the end of the month
