I have a question. Is there a difference between years of a 318 engine as far as bolt pattern of a bellhousing? Can you bolt a ‘65 bellhousing to a late model 5.2/318 engine? Does it matter if it’s a magnum engine?

Actually there is a difference, almost all the bolts line up, but one doesn't, on the lower driver side. This would be in comparison to the bell housing that was used on the 65' model (318 wide block) to anything later that wasn't the wide block. First picture is the but end of a 318 wide block, second is an LA.

Try abell on it.

be aware of crank registers and flex plate bolt patterns as well.
