1967 440 Barracuda

To me the headers don't go in any more difficult than small block headers that hit everything, i can pull out/put in my gaskets with my Schumacher headers in 45 mins.

Forgetting for a moment about money and availability of parts, I would prefer to build a 340 stroker for an A-body car I plan to drive on the street. Parts fit better, the engine is lighter, and with the technology available today you can build a stroker with lots of streetable power.

Of course, if you are looking for eye candy, nothing is more impressive that a big block stuffed between the fenders!

…….. It also depends on valve covers, I tried some aluminum ones but they would not fit.......
Lol, Ya' need a different shoe horn with a 440...….

I've seen larger radiators put in without changing the core support. While not ideal, the car did work and didn't overheat. I haven't decided which radiator that I'm going to run in mine, but I do have a '65 C-body 413 radiator that is practically a bolt-in (same width, but taller). I ran it in my old '67 Dart hardtop until the core sprang a leak. I may go aftermarket, but will likely use electric fans either way.

Both my Barracuda and my son's Dart have 440s with factory valve covers.
FYI If that c-body rad is more than 22" high you won't be able to close the hood .

Use what you have . Yes , it's a challange , so what . It's been done a thousand times . Schumacher mounts and headers , center sump fan , /6 throttle cable for starters . YOU can't have power brakes or A/C . The biggest obstacle is cooling . There are hundreds of ways to solve this . Not all work for everyone . I you want PM me and I'll go over the basics . You can't cheap out here .

Another heater blower motor solution...Kinda hard to see in this pic, but you'll notice the extra hoses. Yup, that's an aftermarket AC in a Hemi powered Dart...and likely what will find itself in my 440 powered Barracuda.

It probably is, but I've already run it. It was lowered to the bottom of the support or close to it. This is the only pic I have of it. I ran it until it developed a leak. And, yes the neck on the air cleaner was also shortened to clear the hood.
