I want my 69 Dart front fenders with patina’d paint on them.Does anyone know of a Midwest shop that can handle it or ideas? good video maybe? or should I just get them painted then sand the hell outta them?

Sand with the DA, mix vinegar, salt and water in spray bottle.
Spray and leave mixture on over night.
Wipe clean and clear coat.

There's YouTube videos on it if you want. Its very easy to do.

Thank you, what’s a reasonable $ to pay to have them shot w/ paint?

You want to pay someone to screw up your paint?
Rest of the body has awesome original patina,I took the fr fenders in for some minor rust repair and they primed both Fr fenders, now I wanna fix what they did.Id rather have a patina’d car than just another restored car.

What i said will make rust, looks lile you just want faded paint?

You could try hitting it with 1,000 grit sandpaper?

Ive never tried doing what i think yiur looking for.

Here's the way i was suggesting will make it look.

Any good paint store will mix up the "faded" red you already have but you need to bring them like your trunk lid or something they can scann to get the color right.

On the truck in my picture we cut out some areas for rust repair, brought the cut out in to the paint store and they mixed us up the "old" looking blue.

Hmmm, ok, I see. You want to match old paint, got it.
I thought you were trying to make it look rusty, "like patina."
I wish my car looked that good!

Generally speaking, the "rat rod" thing is for 64 and back vehicles, as anything newer somehow doesn't fit the bill and just doesn't look right.........at least that's what the general rule is in all the rat rod circles.

It's your car though and if you want it to look like that, go for it.

You know Rusty, I think I might have to ‘rat rod’ my paint in the big city-if I want my car to be less attractive to thieves in the big city.
Almost every ignorant (classic car) fan that “loves a nova,” doesn’t care if the paint isn’t great or perfect.-Except the new gen mopar guys.
I drove my Road Runner to what I thought was the San Antonio Mopar club only to be not allowed to show my car because I didn’t pay club dues-I had just finished moving.

I laughed to myself cause to me, the old cars took work and effort towards the car, not a credit card or auto loan.

The ticket taker let me in free to the Tower of the America’s down town ( he loved the car-saved me $15+)

San Antonio people LOVE classic cars, anything old and they ALL talk & thumbs up in the RR, and want to buy my old civic every time I am out driving.

If it was shiny paint I am sure it would get stolen here in the city. Hell they tried to steal the 74 RRrolling chassis from me at the rest stop in Mississippi-those ramps scraping steel would wake up the dead so they had to scoot after they started.

BUT, so many people are driving imperfect classics here in the south.

Check out a product called Maximum Oxidation. It's a spray the oxidizes bare metal. It dries flat and could be cleared. It doesn't eat into metal like hydrogen peroxide and salt.

Where are you located?

Sounds like ospho.
I’m in Omaha Ne,some of the roof paint is and the fenders were worn clear through the paint, that pic of the fender looks good.Im not technically saying rat rod because I’m useing all factory correct parts,I want it to look like an unrestored barn find and not something that looks like I spent $40K on it like the other 15 or 20 Mopars I see at every show,I’m not ragging on restored cars their great, but they don’t show 50 yrs of life
