I have been making window louvers for my amc hatchback cars with great results. I have a 71 duster and planning on making the same style louvers as mr norms. I may try to keep louver a bit longer so covers the glass more. Enough so trunk will just clear. How many people here may be interested in a set. They will be made for .080 alum and come with hardware. Attached are the pictures of my prototype louvers just for mock up. I will be making a number of these from aluminum and then either making it for my duster or sets for my 71 runner. I just wanted to ask. Price will be around 600ish as the cost of aluminum sheets are not cheap Pictures are of my amc ones I just started to make. I need to make 8-10 sets of them.

Here is the aluminum version of my amc louver to show my work.. I will be making templates for a duster hopefully soon to see how they will fit.

Yea that would never happen unless find a set at swap meet.. I have close to 300 in material to make one louver at this point. Aluminum sheets are expensive

Yes. $300 was the going price from before 2000 - through-2012ish.
Inflation, material cost, labor, shipping-

The dollar menu is gone.

Inflation is no joke. The groceries I bought in 2005 practically doubled in cost by 2015.

Some of us rural folks are still purchasing cars with 1990’s prices, that doesn’t mean the value isn’t higher.

I totally agree.. Right now for my to get the amc material here is close to 300 to make an aluminum louver, That is not the rivets, hardware, mounting hinges, u channel metal edge or the push on trim seal on the sides. It all adds up. That is before an ounce of labor.. I will be selling the amc louvers for around 600 bare or more if powder coat. Duster and roadrunner ones will probably be around the same. I just paid 900 for a dales cuda shop louver for my e body cuda.

were they ever mass produced?
im not saying they are only worth 100, im simply saying that is all id pay for one

same as with anything else, just because it has a certain value, doesnt mean im willing to spend that much on it
(like mom always said "its not a good deal if you can't afford it")
