Ebay GT45 + 5.9 Magnum + E85 blow thru

Made a couple of runs this weekend. Car made it down the track OK but times weren't that impressive. 7.80/96mph. After the 2nd run I did develop a weird shhh air sound under the car when in gear. Like a belt rubbing or some kind of interference somewhere else when the motor tilts a little when in gear.

1st run - No meth injection, no 2-step, lite launch, ran clean but with IATs a little high.


2nd run - I enabled the Meth injection to bring down IATs and launched a little harder (still no 2-step) but AFR went rich and backfired twice and I had to let off the pedal.


I still got some tuning to do.

Not bad for a new build, we know the times will get faster as it gets dialed in
 
Which fuel injection are you going to use? What makes you want to change? Not happy with the fitech?
 
Fitech works fine. I just got a good deal on the Eddy MPI Intake and want to go Megasquirt now.
Which Eddy MPI intake did you go with? Is it factory or did someone modify it? Just curious because I'd like to go MPI someday. I'm currently running an EDDY Victor which they don't make for MPI. They make a Super Victor in MPI but I don't think my combo would like it.
 
@Walker434 you’re blow through procharged correct? Your combo may not like the super victor with a carb but the intake will act differently when it’s not flowing a liquid. If you move to MPI you will not have the typical single plane problems that you would with a carb on top. If it’s cheaper to use the super victor than it is to modify your victor for injector bungs I wouldn’t hesitate for a second to use it.

Never mind just remembered EQ heads. You probably have both bolt patterns.
 
This is where I stand at the moment. Hot side is finished and painted with the VHT ceramic paint. I moved the alt to drivers side and need to tidy it up. Need to figure out top radiator hose routing and the most painful part is getting the carb hat to fit under the hood. Im trying my hardest to avoid cutting a hole in my hood.

Hey, I was looking back at your early post and in no. 10 the picture has your alternator mounted on the driver side. Where did you get the brackets or did you make them?
 
Building a new 2” mild steel hot side. Used an eBay block hugger header on the passenger side that barely clears. Need to figure out wastegate placement and a few dozen other things and weld it all up. Everything is tight as usual on these cars but fits great.

I'd look at that 45* bend on the front pipe before the turbo flange and turn it to a Y and put it there unless your alt is going there.

Very cool build! I plan to do something similar in the future! I have the drivetrain I just need a car. I want to do a 318 turbo build. After my dart is finished I'm gonna start looking for another project car.

that’s what made us do a 2-1 merge, are you going to run 2 wastegates? Is your oil drain in your pan?

Looks nice. On my V6 I was space limited also and I had to build a flange for mounting the wastegate. Just an idea that might work for you.
