I am doing a little research on a new cam and need to know what a stock X Head will flow on the intake and exhaust.
Have any of you head Guru's done a flow chart for a production stock ( no port work) X Head?
Thanks in advance

you can look at the stan weiss site
x flow a LITTLE better but not much
watch the intake/ ex difference / ratio &all the other details like exhaust

They do not need much lift sometimes more flows less
so the temptation is to go fore more duration
which works up to a point
but you start to lose low end and the heads limit top end
so the super stock cam can make power but is not streetable
so get a cam that opens quick, goes to moderate lift, stays then (bjg nose- rolled over nose)
then closes quick

There's the speed master thread that has a bunch of flow charts on the Race part of the forum...

The only factory X head numbers on the flow number thread say they are “ported”.

Stock(NO porting, NO blending) X heads are usually in the 215/140@.450-.500 range.

I saw that, but after a little digging on that thread I found a chart for the stock X head that reported numbers very close to what you provided.
Thanks for the heads up and keeping me honest.

I must be losing it....... the only data I saw in that chart and the thread........ for factory X heads ......were for the ported ones.

And I went through it twice.

Small block head flow chart post #5, line 9...........894 Stock 340X.....

For what it's worth:

I purposely didn't add flow numbers to the chart from other sites, it's just another layer of uncertainty.

I used flow numbers from members here only, and in two cases flow numbers from the vendor directly when that was the only data available. Doing that allowed me to link back to the post that contained all the info I used.

If someone wants to directly post flow numbers from a set they flowed, or had flowed, I'm happy to add that info.
