Throttle bracket a trans part? It is today!!

So we got Dany's a998 installed and it works like a champ!!!
(Thanks Robert at A&A!!)
But we noticed road testing it it didn't "kick down" like it should.
And the more we drove it the worse it got.
I finally noticed the throttle wasn't opening all the way because the eBay Lokar knockoff throttle bracket was bending!!
So for today's kung flu project we fabbed up a sturdier angle iron replacement.
Looks and feels better but we couldn't road test due to rain/wet streets.
Not a good recipe for testing kickdown on an already traction limited car!!

I have had issues with the cheesy Chinese virus Lokar brackets before. So much so that I quit using Lokar products and went back to factory style linkage and fabbed parts that wouldn't work.

While there are those that have success with the Lokar cables, I also haven’t on two different vehicles. Too stiff a throttle with the kickdown cable. I’d do everything possible to retain the factory rods and brackets if you got them, and modify the mounting as needed when changing intakes etc
 
And the more we drove it the worse it got.

The warmer the fluid gets the thinner it gets.
Thinner fluid gets by valves and such in more volume which causes the pressure that is supposed to move valves and such to be lower.

My trans is adjusted to be the way I want it to work when it's fully warmed up, and I really don't like driving it until it is all the way warmed up.
(the cold fluid makes my shifts too early because of less leak by in the pathways causing the pressure to be higher and moving the valves sooner.)

It works perfectly with the big clunky angle iron mount.
I think my next move is to try and incorporate the factory van TV cable that came with the trans.
It's a LOT more substantial!!!

Yea I read what you said about the bracket, but my point was to suggest setting the trans the way you want it to work when it's fully warmed up.
I have a feeling you already knew that though.:D
