installed a Tuff type steering wheel with correct adapter kit, but the gap from the turn signal lever to the back side of the new steering wheel is very tight, can just about get a finger between the wheel and the lever i keep turning the turn signals on while driving. anyone have the same problem ? this is on a 69 Cuda. with console shift.

Do you have an aftermarket wheel and kit? The original tuff wheel i have for a 71 has a tall can adapter from the factory.

Looks like if you took it apart and removed the turn signal arm off you might be able to tweak it a little forward to gain a little more room. I wouldn't do any bending with it in the switch it might break.

I ORDERED THE WHEEL AND THE CORRECT KIT FROM THE SAME SITE SO HOPEFULLY IT IS THE CORRECT ONE. I HAVE BENT THE LEVER DOWN A LITTLE FOR MORE ROOM BUT DO NOT WANT TO BREAK IT OFF BY GOING TO FAR WITH IT.

All you have to do is bend it outward a little. I used a strong plyers type tool to hold the end by the column and bent mine out a hair. Works perfect

You don't want it to bend inside the column. That's why I held mine firmly at the end, so it would bend there and not inside

That's a nice set up by the way.

disassemble and get access to handle. remove screw holding handle and go to bench vice. place flat part in vice and gently bend handle, very little. check fit and adjust. re-install parts

Post 10. Remove it and fix it. In the top second pic, the lever looks a bit off, like an arc?

Don't bend anything! It's a ***** to replace anything inside there. Get the correct can! Let me do some digging and see if I can find one, but they are hard to find anymore. Dales Cuda Shop used to stock them but I bought his last one about a year ago. Not a big market for them so I don't know if he will be making anymore. Maybe a wanted add will help you.

Is that a pre-70 column? If so the correct factory adapter is larger diameter than the 69-older columns. 70 was the first year of the Tuff wheel and also the new column. Your aftermarket adapter looks like it fits your column. I'd would just remove the handle and take out some of the bend. Easy pesy.

Gages look great. What's with all the little triangles w explanation points on em.

Post #7. Get that, it's what is on my '69.
No issues.

I put a very small aftermarket wheel in my 67. 1 inch bullet aluminum adapter spacer. Signal wand was close and too long also. Bought a wand from a member here. I heated with a torch and straightened a bit for clearance. That made it appear even longer. Removed the black plastic end and shortened it.
