70 Dart swinger Console

Hi all ...
Going to put in a console into my 70 Swinger ... My car is a two tone green inside ..

Im guessing the console body should be black with wood grain top ,,, but did they ever do a green body ?

Yes they came in green. I put "green console" in search and came up with a few threads. You'll have to check them out to find some pics if that is what you are looking for. Center console color

Whatever they did on the assembly line was 50 years ago, and they only did it that way because Chrysler corp said to.

I know, personally, assembly line guys that would have made different decisions if given an opportunity. It was their job to do things the way that Ma Mopar said.

All I'm saying is, it's your car. Don't worry about what the factory did. I painted my console the same color as the body, and also painted my dash that color. I think it ties the exterior color into the interior. If you like woodgrain for the top plate, go for it. You can also get flat black, black leather pattern, or carbon fiber pattern.

Customization is not a bad thing.

I had a black console and dash pad as well as black carpet in my EF8 green '70 Dart. Seats were lighter green, probably f6, from a '76 Dart.

yeah originally the same low gloss green that is on the dash frame

Hi guys and thanks for the info .. as you can see from the pic, seats are not so stock .. but i did want to keep with the factory feel. same with the console ... the console is blue and needs a repaint so it will go green with the carpet as well.. then i need to mod the top plate to fit two cup holders.
Does any one have the ash tray insert and sliding lid ????
